Security update for Xperia 10 series used to be 2 years, but with 10 IV, it's extended to 3 years. And it's unlikely that highend models have shorter update support. So it implies 1 IV and 5 IV will also get at least 3 years of security update. That's exactly what has been reported in several IV series tests. Nice to see it's confirmed by Sony.

The Xperia 1 III, Xperia 5 III and Xperia PRO-I are next in line, with Sony only ever delivers 2 major updates. If you plan on buying a phone bc of the updates, Sony isn't the way to go. I am a Sony fan and I have 5 II for last 2 years and I love it but updates are important diese days Hopefully they drop at least 15 on 5 IV 😁.
